Psychedelic Sony Prints?
Posted by Eric Woodchek
You may be shooting a 70's themed event but you still don't want your prints to look like this.
Our tech team here at Imaging Spectrum has run into this problem several times over the past few months with customers using the Sony UP-DR150 and the Sony UP-DR200. Russell, our senior printer tech has found a solution. In an effort to save you time, Russell asked me to post this short explanation.
Description of problem
Photos have a crayola painted looking appearance similar to the image above. (we've also heard "UFO looking", "painterly effect" and other descriptions, I like psychedelic)
Solution
This issue can be corrected by using the LUT (Look Up Table) Tool to reset the color look up table.
Download the LUT tool from the support page on our website:
http://www.imagingspectrum.com/support.html
Once you receive the self executable file follow these steps:
1. Connect the Sony UP-DR150 or UP-DR200 to your PC via the USB cable.
2. Double click the file to execute the tool. You will see a window like below.
3. Click the SEND button to reset the LUT
That should do the trick. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
