Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America has introduced two compact digital photo printers, the CP-D70DW and double-decker CP-D707DW. Mitsubishi will be showing the new printers next week at the Photo Plus Expo. The new models are designed for a variety of photo operations and offer a smaller footprint than any of the Mitsubishi models now on the market market. The CP-D70DW is just 10.8”W x 17.6”D x 6.7”H and the CP-D707DW stands at double the height at 13.4”.
“Mitsubishi is known for high-quality output and reliability,” said Darla Achey , marketing specialist, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. “These new printers offer that same quality in a more compact size. Plus the CP-707DW is the only printer of its size that can be filled with two different types of paper.”
Space Saving Design
With a space-saving front-loader and simple filing unit extension, the printers are easy to use and highly efficient. The CP-D70DW is just 10.8-by-17.6-by-6.7 inches and the CP-D707DW stands at double the height at 13.4 inches. Both have a print resolution of 300 dpi, along with a new image-processing algorithm to enhance natural sharpness. They are also designed for dust-free photos and efficient printer throughput, and have a built-in energy saving idle mode which reduces power consumption to less than one watt.
Double Decker?
The CP-D707DW is unique in that it will accommodate two different sizes of media making it possible to print 4x6 or 6x8 from the upper deck and 3x5 or 5x7 from the lower deck. This new double deck design also increases print speed - if both decks are loaded with 4x6 print speed increases to 5.9 seconds per print. The design incorporates a space between the decks which distribute airflow to the power supply and the thermal print head resulting in increases throughput and reduced print contamination.
