Nestled in the heart of Napa, California, Photo Pro has been a trusted name in professional imaging for over three decades. What began as a commitment to quality film processing has grown into a true one-stop shop — offering everything from custom printing and photo restoration to passport renewals, notary services, and shipping. Yet through every expansion, the philosophy has stayed the same; let quality speak for itself.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Nikha from Photo Pro about the enduring appeal of analog photography, the art of building customer trust, and what it means to run an independent lab that refuses to compromise on quality & cut corners. Whether you're a longtime film enthusiast or just discovering the magic of a physical print, their story is a reminder that in a fast-moving industry, the shops that last are the ones that never stop caring.

Tell us a little about Photo Pro’s history.
“For over 30 years, our name has said it all: Photo Pro. It was built on a simple idea—let quality speak for itself. From the very beginning, we’ve focused on quality, relationships, and consistency, both with our customers and with the partners who help us deliver the best possible results. As technology has evolved, our commitment has remained the same. Over the years, we’ve expanded our range of services to grow with the times—from film processing to custom printing, notary services, passport renewals, shipping, and much more. Our customers often tell us, 'You do everything here'—a true one-stop shop.”
As it turns out, Photo Pro's work speaks for itself — right down to the sign out front.
“For years, we’ve had a sign on our door that reads, 'Come on in—excellence is just ahead.' Today, our customers tell us they’re 'here for excellence.”
Share one of your favorite products or services that you’re REALLY proud of... Something that you really love to present to a customer.
“One of the services we’re most proud to offer is our custom printing and restoration. Every photo tells a story, so there’s something incredibly rewarding about handing someone their finished images and knowing they’re receiving clean color, accurate tones, and results they can trust every single time.”
“It’s the kind of quality that keeps customers coming back—and confidently recommending us to others.”
While the resurgence of film photography is no secret to the photo imaging industry, Nikha has a particularly keen sense of why it has truly blossomed.
Where do you see the future of analog? In your experience, do you see any trend in film and/or processing?
“Analog isn’t just surviving—it’s evolving. We’re seeing strong, steady interest in film, especially among younger photographers discovering it for the first time. There’s a growing appreciation for the intentional pace, tactile experience, and authenticity that film provides. At the same time, expectations for film processing are higher than ever, with customers seeking exceptional quality and consistency. For many, film feels exciting precisely because it’s different—more thoughtful, more hands-on, and more real.”
Got any “ah-HA moments”? Share with us any shining moments that made you think that we’re really on the right track.
“We realized our true product isn’t just what we offer—it’s the trust that brings customers back to explore everything else we do. They don’t just return for more work; they come back because, through past experiences, they’ve built confidence in us across multiple services. Transitioning from a traditional photo lab to a true one-stop shop confirmed we were on the right path. When customers start asking, 'What don’t you do?'—that’s when you know you’ve built something meaningful.”
Looks like you’re enjoying Pakor paper for your Fuji printer… WE think it’s great, but why do you love it?
“We’ve really enjoyed working with Pakor paper on our Fuji printer. Its consistency, color reproduction, and overall reliability make a noticeable difference in our daily workflow. It allows us to deliver prints that meet our standards without unnecessary waste or reprints—that’s real value we see every day. As an added bonus, the paper loads more easily and runs more smoothly in our DX printers as compared to other brands.”
