Matias Bilbao
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Matias Bilbao fell in love with photography while earning his degree in biology in the United States. In 1999 he began his MFA studies in photography at the University of Miami during a critical moment in photography, as film transitioned to a digital medium. His love of photography, command of digital imaging, his constant quest for workflow efficiency, and an obvious need by creative firms and professional photographers struggling with the switch to digital, led him to open Yellowcase LLC in 2004. Providing training, workflow, and color management services to those looking to handle their growing media libraries more efficiently, Yellowcase became synonymous with digital imaging solutions. In 2009 Yellowcase started a fine art printing service that takes advantage of its color management heritage. By spending time providing answers to the client’s color management issues, he was able to reduce waste, provide quick turnaround, and provide extraordinary color matching without increased costs to his clients.
