Packing your printer for shipment is important. We here at Imaging Spectrum want your printer to get here in the same condition as when you shipped it. We all know what packages go through when being shipped.  Here are some tips for you to ensure your printer arrives in the best shape possible. No need to be a stressful endeavor, just follow some simple rules and don’t try to “save money”. Get the good boxes, packing materials and tape.

  1. Get a box. Don’t look for a box in the garage that came from last Christmas. Don’t go cheap and find a box in the dumpster behind the grocery store. You need a box that can take a hit. It should be thick enough to withstand minor bumps and drops along the way. Shippers are not gentle.
  2. Get packing material. You want something with shock absorbency, cushion and give. Use foam, packing peanuts or bubble wrap. Not paper, cardboard or your old socks. If you use peanuts, put the printer inside a plastic bag first. Trash bags are fine.
  3. Make sure ALL sides are covered. This is where having the right size box is important. Top and bottom too. You need about a 3-4” space around the whole printer to make sure it’s well protected.
  4. Use good packing tape. The last thing you want is for it to open up halfway here and sit in a room somewhere for “undeliverable packages” for a few months.
