I have been a wedding DJ in Oklahoma City since 2008. Although I offered a photo booth, it wasn’t a true photo booth with onsite printing. So I started doing lots of research on printers and software, and of course you don’t search too long before coming across Imaging Spectrum’s YouTube channel. This is where I learned all kinds of things from print speeds to what sticker media is and how to use it.

Making Contact

I contacted Imaging Spectrum and Christina helped me find the right printer then walked me through a few things that really helped me understand the business. I purchased Darkroom Booth and a DNP DS40 printer. Once I got them in I was a bit overwhelmed because I had to buy a PC for Darkroom and having only used macs, I was afraid I wouldn’t know how to operate it. That’s when I made a help desk call and found out how easy it was to get a professional on the phone. She even logged into my computer remotely and updated my software. That level of support gave me the confidence to really grow my business by offering DJ and full photo booth services.

Running the Photo Booth

We have come a long way from where we were when an operator was taking pictures manually and telling people to smile. I use Darkroom Booth to look and be professional to my clients. People know when you have powerful software that communicates with the camera, lights & printer in a smooth process that all happens in seconds. Now we have Booth 2, top of the line photo booth software that takes my client’s guests from beginning to end explaining exactly what to do.

One of the issues we had was when people messed up and wanted to start over, we had to spend time messing with the software, or waste prints to do another round of photos. This issue was resolved with Retake Photo button we have on our templates now. It’s a simple click of a button after a bad photo and it’s like it never happened. Quick and easy!

Return on Investment

In the first 4 months, not only did I pay off the printer and software, I paid off the entire photo booth including backdrops, props, tables and the enclosure! Now I have a proven money making machine that my clients love booking along with my DJ services and because I own it out right, I can charge less than my competitors. Time to order another printer and software license!

Building a Relationship

Imaging Spectrum gives me so much piece of mind, I’m able to clearly think about my business and where my profit margins are going every time I book an event. And the support is amazing; I called in last week because I lost my Booth serial number and Laura was able to confirm my account and send me my code within minutes. I didn’t have to wait days or weeks, I got my code in minutes!
