Customer Spotlight – DJ Matt Windsor

customer-spotlight

This month we choose DJ Matt Windsor of A Posh Production as our Customer Spotlight. Everything about his business speaks of quality so we are flattered to provide solutions and support for his business.

He has conducted over 500 weddings as Master of Ceremonies and DJ. He has also provided photo printing services for P-Diddy events through Ciroc Vodka. His company recently had a photo booth at the Chicago PD and Chicago Fire’s cast party, celebrating very successful seasons. Matt has also been the DJ for a major wedding TV show, “Platinum Weddings”.

He is also a representative of Denon Pro-DJ audio equipment, DJ’ing from coast to coast at some of the world’s hottest clubs.

His resume intrigued us, so we wanted to ask Matt about how the photo booth fits into his business.

Q:     How has the photo booth impacted your product offerings to clients?

A: It has allowed me to up-sell, allowing a client to book other things other than just lighting or a DJ. Also, since we are a one stop shop for those things, they like to not have to deal with many vendors. We are also a “rental house” for other people in the industry that either don’t offer photo booths, or need extras for the weekend. They seek us out for booths and staff.

Q:     What software did you use in your booth before switching to Darkroom Booth?

A: I used PhotoBoof.

Q:    What do you like about Darkroom Booth?

A: It’s very user friendly. You do not have to deal with X and Y coordinates and knowing certain code to put in. Everything is at the touch of your fingers.  When asked by other people in the industry why I switched, I explain it like it is its own operating system that does not fail. It has its own version of “Photoshop” inside of it to edit the strips and the screens. Being that I have employees out with the booths, if they ever need to change anything at the event, it is so easy to do.

Q: Any advice for someone new to the booth business?

A: Shop around and look at all the different options out there. I’ve learned from experience, stay away from any companies that require you to buy the media from them, or use their own in house software. Support from the team at Darkroom is the best. Another great thing about Darkroom is there are so many users out there that can walk you through any challenges you may have learning the software. I like to let the software guys do their job right, and the hardware guys do their job right.  I have my booths built by the guys at Photo Box Interactive, they give me an option of software to install, so obviously I chose Darkroom.
